Psalm 119:14-15 SOAP Empty Psalm 119:14-15 SOAP

    Scripture...
Psalm 119:14-15 I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, as much in all riches.
I will meditate on Your precepts, and contemplate Your ways.

    Observation...
    : Rejoicing in His direction
: His Word having equal importance
    : Meditate...Consider
    : Precepts...law
    : contemplate...respect
    : Ways...His path for me

    Application...
I need to be rejoicing in the way (direction) of God's testimonies (standards) are to take me. Why? Because His "thoughts He thinks towards me; thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give me a future and a hope...Jeremiah 29:11." God has no ill will for me. He loves me and I must meditate, not just read, but meditate (consider, S.O.A.P.), and contemplate (respect) all that I read. His ways are His path for me. All this because He loves me, He created me, He knows what is best for me and He has a perfect plan for my life; But I must want what He wants for my life if I am to prosper and glorify Him.

    Prayer...
Lord You are so worthy to be praised, bowed to and honored; You are blessed; Lord I pray as You teach me Your word, Your ways, Your will, that I can be teachable, that I can be trained, so that I may be effective and useable in Your Kingdom here on earth and in heaven! I rejoice in the growth I've made over the years, because of the work You've done in me and the truths You've instilled in me. I do rejoice in Your direction, in Your standards, because they have made me a better person for Your glory, but I want to even more! I pray that You never let me stray from Your truths, but when I do, I know Your faithful to bring me back. I pray that You will always be as important to me as my most valued treasures in life if not more! God make me wholly Yours. I love You so much! I want to love You more! Amen!

"I must want what He wants for my life".  This is very true, but I have found that sometimes, I don't want what He wants for my life.  I want what I want for my life.  And therein is the struggle.  But I do find that even if I start out not wanting what He wants, I do eventually get there because I am able to see  (as time passes) that He has a better plan than I do.  It is not always easy to want what He wants, but in the end, as He proves Himself faithful time after time, I can see the truth and beauty of His plans.  Just being honest....Smile

I think if we were all honest Felicity we would all agree with you. Like Paul tells us in Romans 7:15-20, "For what I am doing, I do not understand. For what I will to do, that I do not practice; but what I hate, that I do. If, then, I do what I will not to do, I agree with the law that it is good. But now, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh) I nothing good dwells; for to will is present with me, but how to perform what is good I do not find. For the good that I will to do, I do not do; but the evil I will not to do, that I practice. Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me." the flesh wars with us, but when we call on the Spirit, and seek God's Word...statutes...testimonies...standards...we can flee the temptation. He always gives us a way of escape...1 Corinthians 10:13
