S-Incline (extend) my heart to Your testimonies (witness) and not to covetousness (profit; unjust gain). Turn away my eyes from looking at worthless things, and revive (fulfill, liven) me in Your way.
O- Open hearts, bigger hearts, receptive hearts
Turning our eyes away is an effort, worldly things draw us by our own desires
Fulfillment comes from godly things not worldly things
A- Sometimes we look at worldly things and desire them over God's will! Our flesh is so weak...The Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak Mat 26:41
I must pray for daily filling of the Spirit so I may walk in the Spirit, so as not to fulfill the lust of the flesh. There is true life in walking with Jesus! In the movie God's Not Dead, the mother who is in the convalescent home who has dementia out of no where burst out and says, "sometimes the devil allows people to live a life free of trouble, cause he doesn't want them turning to God. Your sin is like a jail cell except it is all nice and comfy and doesn't seem to be any need to leave. The doors wide open till one day time runs out. The cell door slams shut and suddenly it's too late." This is why I must cling to Jesus and His truths so I don't give way to the devil to play with mind and disguise sin.
P-God, I need You to open my heart everyday to Your witness, Your way, Your will for me! Speak to me daily, help me not lust after ungodly things, and the worlds way even if they seem to prosper, and even if I feel rejected because I keep Your way. As the days go by it will get harder and harder; let me not fall away: Strengthen my hand to stand alone if I must, because if I only have You, I have everything; I am not alone! Amen!
