I am amazed by the Psalmist and his depth. I have read Psalm 119 a million times before, but so many things are coming alive to me as I slow down to read through it carefully. I love how God's Word is new each time you read it!
S: I rejoice in following Your statutes as one rejoices in great riches. I meditate on Your precepts and consider Your ways.
O: *When God's Word is meditated upon, change can happen
*In verses 13-16 each verse has a directive for what the author will do to keep his way pure.
* To keep pure: 1. declare God's Word
2. rejoice in His testimonies
3. meditate on God's precepts
4. contemplate God's ways
5. delight in God's statutes
6. always remember His Word
A: If I want to live a life that is pleasing to God just as the author wanted, I have to purpose in my heart to do these six things. In doing them, I will keep my way pure and follow along with what God asks. When I a practicing these things, there is not room in my heart and mind to be focused on the things of this world that will distract me from the life God has for me.
P: God, I want my way to be pure, but I get so distracted and I lose sight of what You have called me to do. Father, help me to keep these things at the forefront of my mind; to always declare Your Word, rejoice in what You have said, meditate on Your truth, think about Your Word, delight in Your laws, and to remember Your Word. AMEN!
I hope you all are being blessed as you take time to dig deep into His Word!
Because of His Grace,
Felicity
