I really enjoyed this portion today. I sort of SOAPed the entire stanza and not just the few verses they told us too...
S: Let me understand the teaching of Your precepts; then I will meditate on Your wonders. My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to Your Word. I have chosen the way of truth; I have set my heart upon Your Word.
O: * If we don't understand His Word we cannot reflect and change from it.
* His Word brings strength and restores the soul
* His truth must be CHOSEN
* The word "path" (in some form) is used 5 times in this stanza. Strength to walk God's path is found in His Word.
* The stanza starts with the Psalmist cleaving to the dust, but it ends with him clinging to God's Word. It shows the progression of how God's Word can transform.
A: I have to take more time to reflect on His Word. I must choose God's truth above all else, even when it isn't popular. I cannot continue to follow God with the strength I need unless I am in His Word. The more I cling to His Word and truth, the more transformed I become.
P: God, Your truth is what transforms me, nothing else. I want to be found clinging to Your Word, not the empty things of this world. Open my heart to understand the truth of Your Word. You have set my heart free and I am free to run after You!
